On September 16, 1893, an estimated hundred thousand land-seekers from all corners of the United States raced to claim land in the Unassigned Lands of northern Oklahoma, marking the historic event known as the Land Run of 1893. Among the pioneers who sought to secure land during this remarkable period of history were Henry Engelking and his cousin Herman, both determined to secure a legacy for their family.
Learn MoreFrom the beginning, Land Run Distillery has embraced a purpose that goes beyond the production of premium bourbons and whiskeys. While these endeavors remain central to our mission, Land Run Distillery was conceived to commemorate our past, pay tribute to our ancestors, improve our community and secure our legacy in the Oklahoma ranching community.
Upon completion, Land Run Distillery will sit on the Bar E Ranch in Newkirk, Oklahoma, overlooking land that holds deep meaning for our founder and master distiller, Jeff Casey, and his family—land first settled by Jeff’s great-grandfather, Henry Engelking, during the time of the Land Run of 1893. We are committed to producing premium bourbons and whiskeys using only the raw materials and natural resources available to us on this historic land.
Founded in 2021 by husband and wife Jeff Casey and Shannon Guthrie, Land Run will enter the market in 2025 as a medium-sized premium whiskey distillery. The first release, planned for late summer 2025, will include our Small Batch Elite Straight Bourbon, Small Batch Elite Straight Rye and Pecan Wood Finished Straight Bourbon. In fall 2025, we’ll release our Cask Strength Straight Bourbon and begin rolling out our second series: Double Barrel Straight Bourbon, Double Barrel Straight Rye, Pecan Wood Finished Straight Rye and a pecan liqueur later in the year.
Learn MoreExpertly blended from five select barrels, this high-rye and malted barley bourbon offers a refined, balanced expression with a superb mouthfeel and a stunning auburn hue. The nose opens with soft brown sugar, clove and mint, rounded by subtle hints of acorn squash and honey. On the palate, notes of toasted caramel and vanilla lead into layers of butterscotch, apple, orange peel, rye bread, roasted coffee, toasted coconut, floral undertones and dark berries. The finish lingers with warm baking spices, mint and a honeyed creaminess.
Want to invest? By investing in Land Run Distillery, you’ll be a part of a journey driven by passion, dedication and a love for premium bourbon and whiskey.
Phase I of the Land Run Distillery development, the Main Street Building, is nearing completion and expected to be finished by Fall 2025. Renovations are in their final stages, restoring the historic building in Newkirk, Oklahoma to its original condition. Upon completion, the building will offer residents, businesses and visitors event space, offices, the Land Run Distillery tasting room and distillery space for test batches and aging of Land Run Distillery premium whiskey.
Construction of the distillery on the Bar E Ranch in Newkirk is also expected to be completed in 2025. Additionally, we are finalizing our distribution plans across Oklahoma and Texas and preparing to bottle and launch our whiskey in late summer 2025.
